In 2008, I remember reading an article on luck and how those who did describe them as lucky just noticed things around. I felt really lucky to find out about the Bunac program while browsing the web after my mother asked me if I would like to go to England with my brother who had an internship set up through his school. Bunac program at that time was a program that gave student work visas. It was like a working holiday for students in school and recently graduated students. My mother helped me with my initial funds and housing. I found a flat (apartment) in London through gumtree (similar to craigslist) but beware of scams. The first month felt like a sink or swim month for many Bunac participants. We had to find housing, setup a bank account, get our national insurance card , find a job and so on. The options were endless and each person could have different experiences.
Bunac has changed since I was in the program. For one, you now need to have a internships that is paid or unpaid before you can go to the country of your choice.
You don't have to use Bunac, there many means of getting experience aboard. It's life changing and challenging.
I'll update this post later with resources.
Some things I learned when going to Britain:
1) Spelling for some words are different and agencies could tell from their spelling test.
2) The Bunac office in London usually has listing from past Bunac students and you can split the cost with other students. Bunac usually host gatherings for Bunac participants at the pub. Don't be shocked by warm beer. It's also nice learning experience to share a flat with other nationalities.
3) If you are lucky to find a good paid internship, go backpacking after. There are more than one method to go backpacking to expose you to cultural diversity.
4) Do your research or homework.

If anyone has any good tips on some good internships in London, please reply.
